Keno’s History
Keno was created in two hundred BC by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a finance resource for his declining army. The city of Cheung was at war, and after awhile of war time seemed to be looking at a national shortage of food with the excessive drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to come up with a quick response for the economic disaster and to acquire income for his forces. He therefore created the game we now know as keno and it was a wonderful success.
Keno once was known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were sent out by pigeons from bigger locations to the tinier towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 1800s by Chinese expatriates who headed to the US for jobs. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.
Today, Keno is regularly bet on with just 80 numbers in just about all of the US land based casinos along with internet casinos. Keno is mainly enjoyed today as a consequence of the relaxed nature of gambling the game and the basic fact that there are no skills needed to play Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of winning are terrible, there is always the possibility that you will hit quite big with very little gaming investment.
Keno is played with eighty numbers with 20 numbers picked each game. Enthusiasts of Keno can pick from 2 to 10 numbers and bet on them, as much or as little as they are able to. The pay out of Keno is according to the bets made and the matching of numbers.
Keno grew in acceptance in the US near the end of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were changed with , US numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of wagering in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the idea that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When a law passed that taxed off track wagering, casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
