Keno Strategies That Win
It won’t often be deemed the most fun game in the field of gaming, but keno has massive amounts of zealous players. And it ought to! It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-style game that’s easy to learn, abundantly available in tons of different formats, and one that will return millions for players who master its numerous subtle rules. But let’s start with the basics here.
When defining keno to amateurs, some gaming connoisseurs compare it to the lottery. This is at least partly apt, in that both games are generally numerical. But to take that comparison too far would be to discount the innumerable unique characteristics that make keno so exciting. Not like bingo, keno enthusiasts have the freedom to pick the numbers for each and every card.
Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the user is furnished with an additional degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as many (or as few) numbers as she desires. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to figure out how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your desired numbers with a normal#2 pencil like you used when you were in grade 3.
After you’ve picked your numbers, carry your keno card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The clerk will record those numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not drop this (potentially) valuable bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket with you, you will win exactly $.00 for your time spent.
And there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s move on to something a little more advanced, shall we?
Once you’ve selected your numbers, settle into a nice keno booth and watch the action unfold on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers are displayed for all to see. If you’ve got winners, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to take too much time, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to get your winnings, as a new round of keno will surely get going within a few minutes.
Strategy #2: always get back to the keno stand on time!
Since you can’t trust yourself to make that five-minute margin each time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to 20 cards. When the max number of keno games (matching the amount of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your lazy bum and go retrieve your winnings.
Yet another choice is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which usually lets you make number selection for 30 keno games or more. Heck, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s purchased!
So now you are aware of a number of indispensable methods for winning keno. If you are a skillful player, they might appear to be very obvious. But it does not hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a novice gambler, every little bit of advice will help make your keno playing more agreeable.
